Role: Social Strategy, Comms Strategy, Brand Strategy

Ask: Advertise Google Pixel through a commercial during the Super Bowl and behind-the-scenes content.

Opportunity: Showcase the Google Pixel on the world’s biggest stage through the lens of its powerful AI-powered camera.

Approach: Having led the creative strategy for Google Pixel’s social-first content, I advocated to leverage a similiar creative direction that honored a the Pixel user-experience in immersive ways, just like on social.

After identifying a meaningful use case for one of the Pixel’s AI camera features, Guided Frame, to support the visually impaired, we partnered with Google’s creative lab to develop a commercial concept that translates this use case into a compelling story.

Simultaneously, we enlisted renowned blind filmmaker Adam Morse and legendary blind musician Stevie Wonder to direct and narrate the commercial.

Given the depth of the creative treatment and the sophistication of the featured technology, we prioritized capturing the entire process behind both the commercial and the Pixel camera in behind-the-scenes content that resonates across various audience interest categories

Results: The commercial and behind-the-scenes content surpassed all client goals for success, garnering:

  • 285M+ views, 27% YoY increase

  • 1,565 pieces of media coverage, +30% coverage YoY growth

  • +160% YoY total traffic for GStore
